For the first time, the novel of Dream Theater's The Astonishing is available as a hardback, paperback, and eBook! Initially, the book was released as a limited edition leather volume with a lot of extras for those who like collectibles. That edition sold out. But if you're interested in the larger story, you now have several ways to get a copy.
Dream Theater asked me to consult to help them release the book more broadly as a regular hardback, paperback, and eBook. I was glad to help. So, with that, The Astonishing is now available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and should reach most of the rest, including iTunes, very soon.

These new editions have a note from John Petrucci, a note from me, a foreword by David Campbell, an afterword by Richie Cannata, a short story by John and me that explains why Nafaryus has the name he does, some concept notes and art from The Astonishing album development, interviews with each band member, all the song lyrics, the song-by-song breakdown the band put out, and John's final synopsis.
